About Afghan Geeks Education & Malalai Foundation

Afghan Geeks Education and Malalai Foundation are launching a 4-month Web & AI Development Accelerator for Afghan women ready to advance beyond foundational knowledge and work at a professional level. Our programmes are designed to take learners beyond foundational knowledge and build professional-level competence — preparing them for real careers in web development, remote work, and the growing AI-integrated tech landscape. We are building something that matters, and we are looking for an exceptional instructor to help us deliver it.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced mid-to-senior level female software engineer and educator to lead our Web & AI Development Accelerator as a full-time remote instructor. This is a 4-month intensive, project-based programme for Afghan women with prior coding experience who are ready to work at a professional level. Students do not study theory in isolation — from week one, they build real, production-deployed projects. You will be the primary technical mentor and instructor, guiding students through a modern full-stack web and AI development curriculum while maintaining high standards of code quality, professional practice, and collaboration. This role is open exclusively to female applicants based in Afghanistan.

Key Responsibilities

Teach beginner-level web development courses covering:

  • HTML & CSS — semantic structure, modern layouts, and responsive design principles
  • JavaScript — core programming logic, asynchronous patterns, and DOM interaction
  • React & Next.js — component-based architecture, App Router, and modern rendering strategies
  • Tailwind CSS — utility-first design systems and production-level styling
  • Git & GitHub — version control, collaborative workflows, branching, and code review
  • REST APIs — integration, data handling, and working with external services
  • Databases — relational and non-relational database concepts (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and integration with frontend applications
  • AI & Next.js — understanding AI fundamentals, practical prompting, and integrating AI capabilities into web applications

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a minimum of 4 live online sessions per week with structured lesson plans and hands-on project work
  • Mentor students through project-based learning — guiding architecture decisions, reviewing code via GitHub, and unblocking progress
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide professional, constructive feedback aligned to industry standards
  • Design weekly assignments and exercises that build directly towards each student's live project portfolio
  • Track individual student progress, maintain an 80% monthly completion standard, and support students who need additional guidance
  • Collaborate with the Afghan Geeks & Malalai Foundation team to align delivery with curriculum milestones and student outcomes
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment in line with our safeguarding standards
  • Contribute to student assessment and programme evaluation across the 4-month cohort

Required Qualifications

  • Female applicant based in Afghanistan — this is a mandatory requirement for this role
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong frontend focus
  • Production-level experience with React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Solid understanding of REST API integration and client-server architecture
  • Practical knowledge of AI tools, prompting, and AI integration in web applications
  • Proficiency with Git, GitHub workflows, and collaborative development practices
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, or mentor others — prior instructing or mentoring experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and patiently to learners at varying levels
  • English proficiency is required
  • Reliable internet connection sufficient for regular live video sessions
  • Alignment with the mission of empowering Afghan women through professional-level technology education

Work Schedule

Type: Full-Time

Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week — including live sessions, lesson preparation, code review, and student support

Timezone: Afghanistan Time (AFT, UTC+4:30)

Work Type: Fully Remote — Afghanistan-based

Contract

Fixed-term contract for the duration of the 4-month programme (March 28, 2026 – July 28, 2026), with opportunity for renewal with future cohorts
