Web Development Instructor (Volunteer)
About Afghan Geeks Education
Afghan Geeks Education is a nonprofit providing free technology education to Afghan women and youth, helping them build market-ready digital skills despite barriers to formal education.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Web Development Instructor to lead our beginner-level web development track, guiding students from foundational concepts to building their first projects.
Key Responsibilities
Teach beginner-level web development courses covering:
- •HTML & CSS fundamentals
- •JavaScript basics
- •Responsive design principles
- •Introduction to version control with Git
Additional Responsibilities:
- •Prepare and deliver weekly live sessions
- •Review student assignments and provide feedback
- •Support students through our online community channels
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in web development (professional or academic)
- Comfortable teaching in English; Dari or Pashto a plus
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Reliable internet connection for live sessions
Work Schedule
Type: Part-time, Volunteer
Hours: 4-6 hours per week
Timezone: Flexible, with overlap for Afghanistan Standard Time (UTC+4:30)
Work Type: Remote
Contract
This is an unpaid volunteer position. We provide a letter of recognition and a reference upon successful completion of the term.
